Long enough to resent people who try to change it without my input.
In fixing the faucet a few months ago, I jammed the water shutoff valve stuck. Persistence, and an hour under the sink, and voila: back to status quo.
Turkey. Jigsaws. Home.
Renovation, step two: if you’re a loyal reader you’ll remember that I began the Great Office Renovation of 2014 in November when I repainted Karin’s office a lovely shade of cappuccino brown.
Things have been progressing, and after shopping, ordering, picking up, and acclimatizing a big stack of laminate cork flooring, the epic renovation continued tonight. I ripped out the old carpet, pried up and out the carpet tack strips (and only punctured my fingers a few times) and commenced laying the new floor.
We worked until Claire shut us down for a noise violation (she was trying to sleep) but with any luck we’ll push through the construction over the rest of the weekend and have Karin her office back to some form of functionality by Monday.
Claire, home sick from school yesterday, learned the value of soda crackers on a sore tummy. Sometimes it’s the little things…
I kinda like where I am now.
We’ve been back in Edmonton a little over 10 years, but tomorrow is the ninth anniversary of moving into our house.
