It is finally nice enough outside to escape the bonds of home. It being my flex day yesterday — and also in the mid-twenty-cees — I think it would be a fair calculation to say that I spent more of my waking hours yesterday outside than in. Lovely. Claire and I enjoyed the backyard for about an hour and a half after breakfast, she continuing the effort of breaking in her swing set while I made sure that every plant in the backyard was sufficiently soaked. I actually saw flowers. FLOWERS! And they’re growing right out of the grass near near the water by Granville Island. I strolled — yes, strolled (got a problem with that?) — down to the market this lunchhour, took photos of the overfed seagulls, and then wandered the waterfront taking in the sunshine and (relatively) fresh air. It’s broken the double-digit mark this afternoon as the temperature has soared to a balmy thirteen degrees. And I saw flowers — little purple lily-type things — growing out of the grass on the back nine.
