Snap a selfie. Upload it to Facebook. Then accept the inevitability of my fate that despite years of training I could never outrun the impact.
I’ve got the live feed of this going on in the background: “A live webcast from ESA mission control, when Europe’s Rosetta spacecraft dispatches the Philae lander to make the first-ever touchdown on a comet. The separation of the lander is scheduled to begin around 4:00am EST, and the actual landing scheduled for approximately 11:00am EST.” Not quite a man-on-the-moon type moment, but the technological implications are so awesome and so positive, considering when the the rest of the news today is filled with Russian invasions of Ukraine and more jibber-jabber about self-righteous extremists blowing things up.
