If you are a devotee of this blog you may have noticed (a) that I’ve been pretty quiet lately, and (b) that I haven’t been posting my run logs.
I’ve been sick. Still sick. Ever-never-endingly-sick.
And of course this means that (a) I have little to write about because I’ve been going to work and then coming home and crashing and (b) obviously not actually running.
I ran a short test run on Friday after work. I was cautious. It was colder out than I figured, and the air is really dry and less than half a klick in I had a good pace but a lump in the back of my throat where a stubborn cough was teasing me, clinging in there and not wanting to come up. I wheezed a bit, slowed it up, and then looped back towards home. I survived, and by the time I hit the third klick I was feeling not bad but not great either.
So, another day of rest and hopefully some time to rebuild over the coming weeks. Luckily I don’t owe anyone but myself any distance right now. No races until June. No pressure until much later. So the plan for March: rest, recover, & rebuild.
