This is yet another a cross post from my Pixel Game Blog and another entry in my Pixel Game photo project, my weekly photo scavenger hunt for random photo awesomeness… based on the rolls of some dice.
Week 001 : 5 + 4 + 2 + 4
It seemed a fitting start to a new effort: just a dash of simple determination.
The Kid has always been a willing participant… he lied. She participates, sometimes willingly, more and more often less so. The idea of a lens in her face is sometimes enticing, but not always.
As I kick off this new photo project with the first in what I hope will be many, many posts, now as I often do I find myself sitting at a computer and contemplating what the point of all this writing is. Word. Photos. Idea. More words. More photos. More ideas.
But then there it is, captured in the frame of one simple photo. Isn’t it?
What you don’t see — though hopefully you sense it, extrapolate it with your mind’s eye — is the effort captured here. She’s working. She’s focusing. She’s taking after her dad and doing pointless activity for the sake of the same. I sit here to tip-tap out mundane blog posts which are read by the tiniest fraction of interested people, spattered with the dregs of my feeble creative efforts, but… well, it’s all for something.
Intrinsic enjoyment. Personal satisfaction. And, now, I suppose to set a shining example for the Kid, who (for now at least) like her dad, picks up some pointless effort in these artistic efforts and feeds the creative demon feeding upon her soul.
