It snowed again last night. I went for a walk amongst those sort of flakes that fall like bits of cotton candy, and in the cone of light dropping out of each lamppost seem to drift and swirl in a surreal four-dimensional ballet of brownian physics.

December 14
Today was my last day of work before the holidays. As I told everyone at the office, I may not deserve it, but I’ve earned it and I’m taking it. I’ll be back sometime in January. And, if nothing else, call it round-two of the paternity leave.

I’m only writing, because after a brutally invigorating evening of climbing I can happily report that not only did I challenge and obliterate a particularly difficult five-eight wall tonight, I blazed up my first five-nine! My mom would be so proud — if only she had the slightest clue what I was talking about.
