June 15 – Something You Are Craving
aka. Post 15 of Those 30 Posts in June Blog-Every-Day Posts
In the past I’ve often used the analogy of a slowly-filling water bucket to describe the general notion of how my all around energy level seems to work. Creativity, patience-for-stupidity, will-power, etc — they all seem to be like taking big gulps out of a bucket, and that bucket slowly refills over time, but if you drink too much, too fast, then you get to the bottom of the bucket and there’s nothing left there, and you need to wait for it to refill.
I bring a lot of it on myself, I admit, and as a certifiable introvert I know I often need to find a quiet, peaceful corner in which to hide to help the whole bucket-analogy refilling process. I really shouldn’t be taking on new projects or so freely giving up my time to anyone who asks… but I keep doing just that.
In other words, it’s been a few long weeks of lots of big gulps and not enough peaceful corners. I could really use a few days of down time.
