This is a post from my “Just Three” Challenge, a 28-day photography project to capture a series of three-photo-story sequences — to tell a brief narrative using just three pictures taken that day. Each day from February 22nd through March 21st I’ll be posting a three-panel photo collection that makes use of one of the six styles of story-telling transition.
It’s not a March fourteenth without a pie to celebrate. Sure, it’s a bit of geeky culture, but it’s also a delicious bit. And it wouldn’t be a good pi day pie without some pie-scarfing photos to post into the social media realms. So, when I snapped these quick pics with my cell phone, mostly to upload onto Facebook a few minutes later, their dual purpose as my daily “just three” worked out well.
Too bad it was only one and not three…
Day 21: Point One Four Pies
Camera: Galaxy Note
Subject: Pi Day
Post-Processing: Some selective desaturation and a light vignette.
Story: Celebrate geek culture and eat a pie today. March 14th is Pi Day. Eat well, my friends, eat well.
Technique: Cell phone. Yeah, a bit lazy, but it captured the moment.
Evaluation: I originally wasn’t going to use these pics because they were pretty weak cell phone snaps, but messing around with them in my favorite photo editor, Pixlr, let me nudge them into acceptability. In the end, they’ll do.
