We went shopping. And if you don’t count the numerous hardware stores visited over the last few weeks, I do believe (mind, it is getting late and I can’t be bothered to fact check) that is the first time I’ve taken Claire to a mall on our Daddy Days.
And what better reason than to buy her mother an affmas present?
Too bad that’s all the information you get about that.
While at the mall — stroller-less because apparently the stroller is still in the trunk of Karin’s car which is at the autobody shop — I was reduced to carting the girl around in my arms. This was not only a feat of strength that has left my arms more than a little bit tender this evening, but an awesome exercise in extracting the sympathies of little old ladies shopping and who insisted that I go ahead of THEM in line ups and at doors.
I might find a toddler to take shopping with me every year. Given, I might need to do some strength training in the intervening months between Decembers, but I’m thinking the time I’ll save in store line ups should easily balance that out.
