Daddy Day Stories, Episode 4

From Wednesday, October 8th, 2008, so just over a month ago, [Popularity: 5%]

Already? Yes, a mere three days after the amazing weekend adventure it was time again for another flex day adventure with the girl. And it went pretty much as one might expect.

AM : Nap, Play, and Snack Attack

I played the wise old dad in this morning’s episode and put Claire into a strict routine that saw her burn off some energy in the early part of the day. We led that into the ritual snack time (Mmm… crackers!) and then an easy-to-sleep nap. Exciting, eh?

LUNCH : Bye Bye Lunchies

I’m not one to miss a free lunch. On the rare occasions when someone at the office moves on to greener pastures we get a meal out. And that happened today. Of course Claire and I crashed the party, dropping in on the lunch meet up with thirteen of my co-workers in South Edmonton Common. Unfortunately (for future reference) OPM is not particularly child friendly, and Claire found herself perched on my lap eating from my plate for the whole meal.

PM : Mellow and the Library

Yes, we’re building a tradition here. We stopped back at the library in the mid-afternoon and swapped the books for new titles. Claire actually helped a picked a few of her own this time. I think she’s getting the hang of the place. We had intended to walk the forty-five minutes to the library but neither of us could take the wind (Claire more vocally than me) and we turned around after a couple blocks and got the car.

We thought it was pretty cute when N. would pick out her own library book too… then she started bringing home books in other languages. French I can handle… it’s the Russian I’m rusty in.

Thanks for the tip on OPM. N. particulary likes East Side Mario’s for daddy nights though she’s not a fan of the music in the loo.

Yeah, she’s all over the French books for some reason.
