If you don’t understand the title, let me elaborate by saying that it’s my half-birthday today. Thirty-one point five. How insignificant. But I am marking the non-occasion with a version one-point-five release of a photography project I’ve been sporadically working on over the past six (give or take) years. Little did I know that when I stood on Jericho Beach in early 2002 and snapped the following photo that I would begin a cascade of craziness that would eventually lead to nearly three hundred pictures of my shoes wandering the planet. The thing is this; I’ve not been traveling much lately and prospects for the near future are few and far between. So the chance of my footwear gracing the likes of a manhole cover in Prague or touching sand on some distant Caribbean beach is slim. Instead, the RandomFeets gallery has waned to become not much more than dozens of random shots of my lawn and living room carpet. For my own interest, and those rare few who still follow the look-down adventures, I’m going to keep RandomFeets updated and alive. But new additions for that collection will be either (a) really interesting things (a relative term, of course) and “series” or (b) the leftovers from the version one-point-five project: DailyFeets. The inspiration is a blend of the RandomFeets and Daily Claire galleries, if you hadn’t figured that out. And I’ll be doing a one-year trial run of the project to see how it works out. I’ll be adding a permanent DailyFeets Page to the blog in the next little while, so I’ll leave the details for there. |
