I think I’m starting off on the right foot, of course. It’s barely lunchtime and I’ve already uploaded a small stack of photos and preparing my first of the blog entries for the month-of-everyday-posts.
Too bad I don’t have much to say… Claire has been behaving with mixed reviews for the past few days. Gas, I suppose. She sleeps through the nights, but the days and evenings are struggles. She’s a girl who wants to be held, bounced, and moved — and don’t you dare set her down to rest or sleep!
Occasionally we get a moment like the one in the photo. This was taken at about eight thirty this morning when (after TWO five-hour sleep sessions) Claire was obviously in one of her better moods. She let me take a couple dozen photos, and even smiled in a few of them. (Actually, this is about as close to a smile as we get.) At about the same time these pictures were taken, she was on the floor, looking at toys, and her odd-ball parents were trying to see in how many languages they could count to ten as to impress the girl with nothing but the sounds of our voices and an array of moving fingers. The total (by the way) came out to a lousy four languages. And I’m not sure we really wowed our daughter with that effort.
