comic ending or whatever
Being fall, and not having much to do, I registered in a course at Langara College entitled Comic Book Publishing. The blurb says:
Discover the process of making a comic book from storyboarding to the technical aspects of printing. The challenge of this course is to take the initial development of a cast of cartoon characters and literally give them something to do! Each week takes you one step closer to completing a comic story, which will be published in a class comic book at the end. Informative tips on industry practices and opportunities are also given.
…and it is categorized under the “Creative writing” section of the mini-calendar. Tied to this, maybe not so distinctly as I might have imagined, is the fact that just as I’m finishing up The Return of the King, my new ED/Boss recommended (and lent) me a book on that exact subject, entitled The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay. Nearly off the fantastic adventures of Sam and Frodo, and now long-done the time-wheelies of Rand, et al, I guess it might be smart to settle into a less imagined adventures, such as this: the 1940s adventure of some comic-book entrepreneurs. Nice.
