wandering.about the ol.hood

Lunch left me with little to do. I had sent some digipics to FutureShop but they weren’t ready yet. And, in a rush this morning, I left my current read sitting on my bedside table. To top that off, my Visor is laying vulnerable on the coffee table where I left it last night after looking up a phone number. Moderately length story cut short: I went for a long walk.

I’ve been looking to pick up a cheap copy of Spirited Away on DVD. I know. I just mentioned yesterday I own too many of those stupid little discs already. As a minor justifacation, you’ll be pleased to know that I do watch many of them. I have a pretty hefty rotation going, and since I try to avoid broadcast television as much as possible these days, the DVDs do come in handy when I just need to chill and I’m not so mentally stimulated as to want to play video games. Also, having organized my life in a happy.fun debt.reducing super.budget mode lately, I have granted myself a moderate entertainment budget which proffers me the opportunity for the occasional splurge. That doesn’t mean I want to pay full price for a movie just yet, but hunting around at video rental places for a previously viewed copy is still an option and — as I’m discovering — is definitely a quest worthy of King Arthur.

That brings us back to lunch. Wherein I turned south from Broadway. Wherein I traced my nearly forgotten route towards where I used to live on Oak Street. Wherein I visited the Blockbuster and Roger’s Video stores on 16th and Oak to query their compliment of PV-DVDs.

Alas. There were none to be bought.

Sullen, I returned to the office to extol my pain into the ether that is here. I mean, it wasn’t all THAT bad. But I needed something to write about. Something. To write about. Here. You know what I’m saying?

I give up.

After trolling my own space for a while I’ve noticed a disturbing lack of interesting content. I used to rant on the virtues of copyright infringement, lament on the evils of corporate America, ring the bell on philosophical and moral injustice in society. I used to. Or something. I’ll try and think of something interesting to complain about for later on. I need a jab from Stephen or Jess or something to get me going!
