voiceless

I’ve been voiceless for a few days now.

on.reaching.halfway

For those who are counting, somtime today I should reach the halfway point of the book:

50 000 words / 2000 words per day = 25 days of writing pain…

…or, (November) 13 days x 2000 words per day = 26 000 words…

…and, since 26 000 words / 50 000 words = 0.52 or 52% complete…

…sometime today I should be reaching the halfway point of this novel. Fair enough. This is — believe it or not — do-able. Last night I inched towards the now perfectly visible goal of 24 000 words, posting a final tally of over 23k. And tonight, I have nothing to do BUT write. But that’s not the most amazing thing: sometime last night, hunched over the tappity keyboard of my sad and sorry home computer, I realized that I have something I didn’t think I actually posessed. No, I won’t say talent — that is a judgement (apparently reserved for my audience, if any) but I will note that I do have a little bit of a plot poking throught the seams of my pages. Sigh. That’s cool.
