DAY SIX = CHAPTER SIX

Did I mention that I picked up a cheap copy of Scientific Progress Goes “Boink” — one of my all-time favorite Calvin and Hobbes anthologies — from the newly restored Tanglewood’s on Broadway? I think I’m going to leave it at work for a while so I can browse it when other inspiration is lacking.

We are in the game. We are on the board. We have a go!

I officially — way — passed the ten.thousand.word mark last night. I even had time to wander over to the mall with Karin for a Starbucks Hot Chocolate — not their best drink, by the way — and tell her some of the otherwise.closely.guarded secrets of the work in progress. She may or may not remember any of those details, but I guess that means she’ll be surprised when she gets to read it at the end of the month. As of right now — the words from last night, plus the stack I poked into my visor this morning while riding on public transit — the official word count — actually posted on the contest website is sitting at 10,434. In page.speak, that’s around 26 single spacers. In kbytes, it’s a 60k text file. In blood.sweat.and.tears — well — it’s a least a full litre and a half.

Goal for tonight before I crawl into my comfortable — oh, so comfortable — bed: 12 thousand. Sigh. I have sooooooooooo much to to do today, too.
