train.racing on the mean.streets of burnaby Out for an unusual evening drive, Karin and I stop for gas. Post.fill we are pulling out of the station, when we realize the skytrain is doing something very similar. For those unfamiliar with the BC Transit system, the new skytrain line runs relatively parallel to Lougheed Highway for a long stretch through North Burnaby. On clear.road evening, at about 9 pm, one can get that speed.burn effect (sadly, without even going over the limit) while pacing the train between stations and traffic lights. If, like Karin and I, you hit the lights right it is possible to track the train cars for a few kilometers from mall to mall in either direction. Of course, this is not recommeded for anyone who actually wants to do something interesting on a lazy tuesday evening, but it warrants a play if you happen to be.there as the action unfolds. |
