I imagine at some point today I’m going to take Mr. V and wander over to a coffee shop for some uninterupted scrawl time. Unfortunately that will need to wait for a bit: I brought snack (cookies from Save-On) and obviously can’t miss that. I guess I’ll have to fumble through here for a while yet — Opportunities arose — finally — last night and I was able to pick up where I left off with Otherland. [ cue the voice-over ] When we last left our ill-fated troop of virtual wanderers, they were struggling relentlessly against a larger than life hoard of digital ants. But, thanks to teeeeeemwork they pulled through — and for a brief second were reunited before falling back into the river that runs between the worlds. Tune in next week while the mismatched and unlikely band of heroes come up against the scarecrow, in a twisted vision of Baum’s Oz. I read until past my bedtime — sorry, ma — but managed to plow through a few more chapters. It’s nice to have a few free seconds now and then: moving, working, and other thoughts tend to cloud the veg-moments lately. |
