Now, even at a few minutes to midnight — It’s late but I’m not working tomorrow — my apartment is still in the high 20s despite the continually running fans.
I’ve been hacking away for an hour designing a little database for a writing project that I’m working on. Too many things to keep track of in my poor tired brain. On the thoughts of writing, I have been plunking away at something I’m calling construct development: in other words building a miniature universe on paper and in silico where the ideas can merge themselves into a story. My muse is impressed, and seems to be happy to supply a wealth of data for the construct. Alas, hence the DB: pads of paper — and a mish mash of random scribblings later — and I am beginning to see the roughly hewn edges of a universe emerge. Second hence: I am taking the next couple days off to work on this. Odd way to spend my holiday, yes. But when it’s a passion then — hey — you need to devote, right?
For now? Some sleep might be in order, even though it’s still too HOT!
