Back to work.

Back to work. Back to work. Back to work. And now the fun begins: the next 16 days are going to be insane and crazy all at once… and no, that is not redundant. In the meanwhile, as the last echos of my life trickle away, check out the new photos in the gallery.

Gene writes: We had a Wine-tasting fundraiser on the 19th and raised just over $1000. During the evening we had a raffle with the grand prize being a wine rack and 17 bottles of wine donated by the wine agencies involved. Unfortunately, at some point while we were packing up, someone had come by and stole the entire box of wines that had been packed up. The winner refused our replacement prize of a Bed & Breakfast package at the Sheraton Grand Hotel and demanded that we replace the wines for her. So this last week, we’ve been calling the wine agencies to ask if they could replace some of the wines. Some have come through for us while others haven’t replied or said they wouldn’t be able to because they had originally donated some pretty expensive bottles of wine. So we might have to buy those bottles with funds raised from the event.

Boo to the winner. What a bad sport. Booo. Hiss. Boo to the thief too: but at least their motivation was clear. Who the heck comes to a fundraiser to try and rip the charity off? It sounds like there were at least two at Gene’s fundraiser. The thief and the prize-winner. I’m sorry, but that is very sad. In fact, working in the sector for over a year now, I’ve seen many occasions where the prize is often donated back to the organization. Says Brad, voice dripping (drenched) with sarcasm: What a sport.
